FURNITURE FIXING

10.11.16

This workshop sought to use simple solutions that can be applied across a breadth of materials to successfully repair and build household furniture.

Considering that mainstream furniture and household objects are constructed out of laminate, sheet material (MDF, PLY) and thin walled metals, the repairs included the use of materials which could have a breadth of applications, such as mechanical fixings.

All processes used within the repair workshops were scalable. The participants were overall encouraged to appreciate that the process of repairing an object is not dissimilar to the process of creating an object from scratch.
